For many years I was a self-supporting artist. I created a successful line of wearable art which I sold at juried craft shows throughout the country. While living in Lancaster, PA, I learned of an opening in the art department of a local private school. I had enjoyed my teaching experience from several years prior, so I decided to look into it. I accepted the position and my love of teaching was rekindled. I changed direction and pursued teaching art as a career.

My life has come full circle. I am once again living in the town where I began, Honesdale, Pennsylvania, a small rural town situated in the foothills of the Poconos. I love the opportunity I now have to teach the students who enter my room the empowering feeling you get from creating something from a lump of clay. What a gift to be a part of these developing students' lives! Many students find their strength lies in the right side of their brain. It is my pleasure and passion to be able to share my belief in Art with all of them. I continually attend workshops and share my knowledge with others. I hope, through my artwork and teaching, I can help others express themselves creatively. What we create is our personal statement... and we all have something to say.

A recent workshop with Randy Brodnax and Don Ellis opened an ancient door to my soul, which allowed me to merge my past experiences. I am spellbound by the fast firing process, its surprises, and earthiness. I feel as though I have now found my balance with the earth.
